30 Years of Care

In 1981, a handful of volunteers joined together, believing there was a better way to care for people at the end of life. Through compassion and determination they formed what is now known as State of the Heart Hospice, one of the first rural-based hospice programs in the country. They cared for 25 patients that first year. Now we mark our 30th year of service to our communities and reflect on the more than 10,000 families we’ve cared for.
Take a few moments to learn more about our history through the photo montage and articles below. We appreciate your continued support as we strive to provide exceptional care for another 30 years to come.
